Manchurian is belongs to specifically Indian Chinese Cuisine. Manchurian is an indian chinese fried food item popular in India due to adaptation of  chinese cooking to suit indian taste.

 

There are two different variety of manchurian is popular dry and with gravy.Both had it’s unique taste, both are prepared by using common ingredients like cabbage, carrot, capsicum, spring onion, corn flour and refined flour etc. Here we prepared vegetable manchurian with gravy, In vegetable manchurian gravy deep fried vegetables balls are cooked in soya sauce based gravy and served with  fried rice or hakka noodles.

 

Vegetable Manchurian gravy is very easy to make at home. Here is simple and easy step by step recipe.

INGREDIENTS

For Veg Manchurian Balls

Carrot grated – 4 tbsp
Cabbage fine chopped – 4 tbsp
Capsicum fine chopped – 2 tbsp
Green chili fine chopped -1
Maida – 2 tbsp
Cornflour – 2 tbsp
Salt – ½ tsp
Black pepper – ¼ tsp
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
Soya sauce – 1 tsp

For Gravy

Crushed ginger – 1 tsp
Crushed garlic – 1 tsp
Chopped green chili – 1
Chopped Onion – 1 medium
Chopped spring onion – 2 tbsp
Oil – 1 tbsp
Soya sauce – 2 tsp
Chili sauce – 1 tsp
Tomato sauce – 1 tsp
Vinegar – ½ tbsp
Black pepper – ½ tsp
Salt – ¼ tsp
Cornflour – 2 tbsp
Water – 2 cups

For Garnishing

Chopped spring onion – 1 tbsp

METHOD

For making balls

1.Take a bowl, add chopped capsicum, cabbage, carrots, green chili, ginger garlic paste, salt, black pepper, maida, cornflour and soya sauce. Mix properly.IMG_0953
2.Prepare small round shaped balls from the mixture.IMG_0955
3.Heat oil in a wok, deep fry balls on medium flame till golden brown.manchurian pics fry
4.Transfer fried balls on kitchen paper.Keep aside.

For making gravy

1.Heat oil in a pan, add crushed ginger, garlic, chopped onion,green chilli and spring onion saute for a minute, add soya sauce, chilli sauce, tomato sauce and vinegar,saute these for a minute.IMG_1039
2.Now add 2 cups water, salt, and black pepper. Bring mixture to boil, boil it for 5-7 minutes.IMG_1040
3.Dissolve cornflour in some water and mixed to the gravy, cook it for 3-4 minutes on low flame.
4.Add deep fried manchurian balls and cooked for 5 minutes on slow flame.IMG_1043
5.Off the flame, and transfer the dish to a serving platter, and garnish with spring onions.veg_manchurian_gravy
