Sambar plays an important role in South Indian Cuisine. When we order dosa in restaurent, it is always accompanied by sambar and coconut chutney, but i also liked quick onion tomato chutney which taste quite good too. I will share the recipe of onion tomato chutney and coconut chutney in another post soon.

Sambar is made with lentil as well as lots of veggies which make it so nutritious. The recipe of sambar that I am sharing today is quite easy and quick to prepare. The main taste maker or main ingredient in this recipe is Sambar Powder, which gave really authentic flavour to it.Sambar powder can be prepared at home also, but here I am using MTR sambar masala.

Sambar goes well with dosa, idlis and vada but this recipe goes well with steamed rice too.
