Chilli Paneer is a popular mouth melting Indo Chinese snack.Indians loves this fusion.This dish originally served as chilli chicken, but the vegetarians modify the recipe and substitute chicken with paneer.Chilli Paneer with gravy can served with any chinese main course dish like shezwan rice or fried rice, or when you make it dry then can be served as snack or starters.
Chilli Paneer dry is an amazing Indian Chinese paneer starter dish. In this dish crisp paneer cubes served with spicy chinese flavoured sauce.Making chilli paneer at home is very easy and quick recipe, Here is simple and easy step by step recipe.
So, Let’s Start Now
Cottage Paneer – 200 gm
Cornflour – 2 tbsp
Black pepper powder – ¼ tsp
Salt – ¼ tsp
Oil – for frying
Crushed ginger – ½ tbsp
Crushed garlic – ½ tbsp
Sliced vertically green chili – 1
Quartered and separated in squares onion- 1 medium
Capsicum cut in squares – 1 medium
Oil – 1 tbsp
Soya sauce – 1 tbsp
Chili sauce – 1 tbsp
Tomato sauce – 1 tbsp
Sweet chilli sauce – 1 tsp
Vinegar – ½ tbsp
Black pepper – ½ tsp
Red chilli powder – ¼ tsp
Salt – ¼ tsp or as taste
Cornflour – 2 tbsp
Water – 2 tbsp
Chopped spring onion – 1 tbsp
1.Sliced paneer in 1- inch cubes.
2.Add 2 tbsp of cornflour, black pepper and salt to the paneer cubes.
3.Coat paneer cubes with the paste and set aside for 10 minutes for marinate.
4.Heat oil in a pan , shallow fry the coated paneer cubes until light brown.
4.Transfer fried paneer cubes on kitchen paper.Keep aside.
For making gravy
1.Heat oil in a pan, add crushed ginger, green chilli and garlic and stir fry for a minute.
2.Add onion and capsicum squares and stir fry on medium flame till the edges of onions and capsicum get light browned.
3.In a small bowl add soya sauce, chilli sauce,sweet chilli sauce, tomato sauce,vinegar,black pepper, salt and red chilli powder.Mix well with a spoon.
4.Now add all the sauce mixture to a pan along with browned onion and capsicum.
5.Be cantious about salt as the sauces already have salt in them.
6.Add dissolved cornflour mixture(2tbsp cornflour and 2 tbsp water)and fried paneer cubes , stir and cooked on medium flame for 2-3 minutes or until the gravy turns thick.
7.Garnish it with spring onion and served hot.
